Frank Lampard has revealed his main concern for Chelsea ahead of the coming season after they conceded three goals against Salzburg in their pre-season friendly game in Austria.
Lampard was installed as Chelsea manager last month after former Blues manager Maurizio Sarri departed for Juventus. The English manager has been impressive so far with notable wins over Barcelona, Reading and Salzburg in their pre-season clash after returning to Europe.Chelsea conceded three goals in each of those victories and Lampard insists the team must improve defensively with the new season starting in less than two weeks’ time.
We want to concede zero goals, so it is a concern and we want to improve
on it,’ Lampard said after Chelsea’s 5-3 win over Salzburg. ‘We will
talk about it.We can’t afford to make those mistakes.’Chelsea will take on Borrusia Monchengladbach on Saturday in their final pre-season game before the start of the new season.
